Is kayaking in Andaman suitable for first-timers?
Yes. Our trips stay in sheltered mangrove creeks, use stable sit-on-top kayaks, and start with a safety briefing and paddling lesson. You do not need experience or swimming ability.
Can I kayak in Andaman during the monsoon?
Often, yes. The creeks stay paddleable more often than people expect, but wind and rain can cancel a trip at short notice. If we cancel for weather you get a full refund or a free reschedule, so keep a spare day in your plans.
What should I pack for a mangrove kayaking trip?
Quick-drying clothes, water shoes or sandals with a heel strap, sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses with a strap. We provide a dry bag for your phone and keys, and drinking water.
How do I get to Havelock Island for kayaking?
By ferry, roughly 90 minutes to two hours depending on the boat. Book the ferry before you book the kayaking, because ferries sell out in season and can be cancelled in rough weather.
What is the best month for kayaking in Andaman?
November to April is the most reliable stretch, with calm water and clear mornings. Kayaking continues through the monsoon from May to September, but trips are more often cancelled at short notice for weather.
Is kayaking safe for kids?
Yes, with the right age and supervision. The minimum age is 8 on the daytime trip and 10 on the night paddle, everyone wears a fitted life jacket, and children paddle with a parent or guardian.
Should I choose snorkeling or kayaking in Andaman?
They show different parts of the same system: snorkeling shows you the reef, and kayaking takes you into the mangrove creeks where many reef fish start their lives. We only run kayaking, but the two pair well on one trip.
How much does kayaking in Andaman cost?
Each of our trips is ₹3,500 per person, including the kayak, paddle, life jacket, guide, dry bag and drinking water, with nothing added at checkout. See the Packages page for details of each trip.
